Erévos Hypogeum
A brand language and landing page for a Nemea wine estate that ages every bottle fourteen metres underground.
Concept studies: fictional clients, real design and code.

01Challenge
The estate's one real difference, an 1871 limestone cellar fourteen metres under the vines, was hidden behind a generic winery template.
The family wanted to sell two things that stock photos can't: a paid underground tasting and a limited allocation list for their flagship wine.
The cellar itself is dark and cramped, nearly impossible to photograph well, and they didn't want the candlelit cliché.
02Approach
We didn't show the cellar. We made the page feel like going down into it.
One line to build on
A single positioning session with the family settled the voice: wine that waits in the dark. Patience and darkness became the rules for colour, motion and copy.

The shader is the cellar
A slow oxblood volumetric shader stands in for the vaulted galleries. Scrolling pushes the camera deeper, and a depth readout counts down to minus fourteen metres.

Old glass, plain WebGL
Content sits on refractive panels tuned to look like uneven bottle glass. Three.js was replaced by a small raw WebGL setup, and the page freezes to one still frame under reduced motion.

03Outcome
One page and the start of an identity: palette, type, an arch mark and a voice built around patience.
- self-contained page, no framework
- 1
- fallbacks: no WebGL, no JS, reduced motion

Note
Concept study. The estate, its people and wines are fictional; Koutsi and Nemea are real places used as setting.
